Yom Ha'atzmaut : Happy 76th Birthday Eretz Israel!

"And I will bring back the exiles of My people Israel, and they shall build
the waste cities and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards and drink
the wine from them; they shall also make gardens and eat the fruit of them.
And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be torn up
out of their land which I gave them, says the Lord your God."
(Amos 9:14-15)

"Name Israel Dates Back To Jews' Origin"

"Israel, the name of the newly proclaimed Jewish state in Palestine, dates back
 to the very founding of the Jewish people, according to the Jewish Encyclopedia.
It was the name given to Jacob the Patriarch.

Israel was also the name of the first united Jewish state founded by David.
When the kingdom was divided after the death of Solomon, the northern section
retained the name of Israel and the southern part was known as Judah.
The two kingdoms roughly split what is now Palestine.

The Jews throughout history have been known as the people of Israel."

"And Ruth said, Urge me not to leave you or turn back from following you;
for where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people
shall be my people and your God my God."
(Ruth 1:16)
