"Apples Of Gold In Pictures Of Silver"
Taken in its context it reflects the manner in which one would approach a King.
In Solomon's day, the Monarch would be presented with carved golden ornaments
in the shape of fruit which was shown off on highly polished silver platters.
in the shape of fruit which was shown off on highly polished silver platters.
As ambassadors of Christ, we should present this picture to those around us.
Our words should be as valued as golden apples and as precious as their
presentation on a platter of silver. Such words fitly spoken (timely advice)
should relieve a heart burdened with anxiety. Our words should give others
strength. We should likewise avoid gossip. We should avoid using words for
cruel deception. Sometimes the absence of words are golden.
