Holy Days of Our Lord: Tabernacles "Sukkot"

 

 

 

 "On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, after you have gathered the produce
of the land, you are to celebrate a feast to the LORD for seven days. There shall be
complete rest on the first day and also on the eighth day.  On the first day you are
to gather the fruit of majestic trees, the branches of palm trees, and the boughs of
leafy trees and the willows of the brook. And you are to rejoice before the LORD
your God for seven days. You are to celebrate this as a feast to the LORD for seven
  days a year. This is a permanent statute for the generations to come, you are to
celebrate it in the seventh month.  You are to dwell in booths for seven days.
All native-born of Israel must dwell in booths, so that your descendants
may know that I made the Israelites dwell in booths when I brought
them out of the land of Egypt. I am the LORD your God."
(Leviticus 23:33-43)

 The Feast of Tabernacles, also known as "Sukkot" which in Hebrew means, "booths" 
will begin at sundown tonight Friday, September 25, 2026 and will end at nightfall
 on Friday, October 2, 2026.  Hebrew calendar:  (15-22 Tishrei 5787).

In this classic presentation filmed on location in Israel, Messianic Bible teacher
Zola Levitt (1938-2006) founder of Zola Levitt Ministries, stands next to a "sukkah"
(booth) as he explains how during this feast, the mood changes from a solemn time
of reflection and judgment to one of joyful celebration for Jews around the world. 

Included is an interview with U.S. immigrant Chuck King, who tells of the
 International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem's yearly celebration at Qumran.

 The Hebrew word, "Olam" pronounced oh-Lahm, means, "everlasting"
 "eternal" "perpetual" "ancient" "without end".

 From Genesis to Revelation, we are witnesses to God, who transcends time and eternity,
whose relationship with the believer reaches fulfillment in Christ, our Blessed Hope.
