In celebration of National Doll Day I selected from my vast and
varied doll family the beautiful Nez Perce Indian maiden Kaya.
Unlike most American Girl Dolls, Kaya is a solemn little girl
and does not show her two front teeth.
She reminds me of America's past, when the Indian tribes, which
includes my own Cherokee ancestors, once freely roamed the land.
