The Lord Reigns, Let The Peoples Tremble

"Who shall not reverence and glorify Your name, O Lord,
giving You honor and praise in worship? For You only are holy.
All the nations shall come and pay homage and adoration to You,
for Your just judgments  Your righteous sentences and deeds
have been made known and displayed."

The Lord reigns, let the peoples tremble with reverential fear!

He sits enthroned above the cherubim, let the earth quake!

The Lord is great in Zion, and He is high above all the peoples.

Let them confess and praise Your great name, awesome

and reverence inspiring!  It is holy, and holy is He!

The strength of the king who loves righteousness

and equity You establish in uprightness;

You execute justice and righteousness in Jacob (Israel)

Extol the Lord our God and worship at His footstool.

Holy is He!

Moses and Aaron were among His priests,

and Samuel was among those who called upon His name;

 they called upon the Lord and He answered them.

He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud;

they kept His testimonies

and the statutes that He gave them.

You answered them, O Lord our God;

You were a forgiving God to them, although

 avenging their evildoing and wicked practices.

Extol the Lord our God  and worship at His holy hill,

for the Lord our God is holy!

The Gardener

While we are tending our earthly gardens,

The Gardener lends us His seeds to sow,

The bulbs of His lilies, the roots of His roses,

To plant and cherish and watch them grow.

The first Angel's Trumpet to bloom in my garden this year!

Sometimes He comes when the day is over

And garners a sheaf of the full grown wheat,

Ripe for the harvest and waiting for the sickle,

Ready to fall at the Reaper's feet.

And sometimes He comes in the early morning

And tenderly gathers the sweetest flowers,

The buds of the lily, the rose half-opened:

Shall we not joy when He chooses ours?

Shall we not yield God our loveliest blossoms,

Glad that He finds them so fragrant and fair,

Worthy transplanting to heavenly gardens,

To gain new beauty beneath His care?

Never a storm shall sweep over His flowers,

Nor drought shall wither, nor frost shall blight;

About His feet they shall grow unfading,

And bloom forever in His pure sight.

On My Mind: Will God Save America If The Supreme Court Overturns Roe vs. Wade?

According to an e-mail I received this morning from Tim Wildmon,
President of the American Family Association,  Mississippi's Attorney
General Lynn Fitch has filed a brief with the Supreme Court of the
United States defending her state's ban on abortion after fifteen
weeks of pregnancy in the case of Dobbs vs. Jackson's Women's
Health Organization.

Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch

"The national fever on abortion can only break when this Court returns
abortion policy to the states," Fitch wrote in the brief, stating that the "science
of the womb" has evolved so much since Roe was decided. "It is time for
the Court to set this right and return this political debate to the
political branches of government."

According to the American Family Association, "As a result of the United
States Supreme Court agreeing to hear the case this fall, it could very well
lead the Court to overturn its 1973 ruling in Roe v. Wade.  For the first
time in nearly 50 years, there is great hope that the United States of America
could return to the biblical and constitutional view that unborn children
are human beings, created by God, and that the federal government
has no right to sanction their abortion."

The decision of Roe vs. Wade, which made abortion the law of the
 land, was based entirely on fraud in the first place.  The woman at
the center of the controversy, Norma McCorvey, a.k.a. "Jane Roe"
was a single mother who was pregnant with her third child.
 Under Texas law at the time, it was illegal for her to obtain an abortion.

  Although she was used to promote the false argument which secured
the passage of Roe vs. Wade,  McCorvey never had an abortion. She
later regretted her role in the deception and became a Christian.

The landmark decision made by the Supreme Court in 1973, ruled that
the protections of the United States Constitution should extend to protect a
woman's right to abort her unborn child without excessive government
restriction.  The court's decision struck down many federal and
state laws in place to protect both the mother and the child from
the harm of an illegal abortion procedure.

When the court legalized infanticide on January 22, 1973
I believe that America the Beautiful, became America the Cursed.
The justices not only denied the unalienable right to life, liberty,
and the pursuit of happiness to the unborn, but imposed a
death sentence on the very likeness and image of God Himself.

"God said, Let us (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) make mankind
in Our image and after Our likeness..."
(Genesis 1:26)

Since 1973, the moral climate of our society has declined rapidly,
 resulting in what the late conservative legal scholar Robert Bork
aptly described in his book, "Slouching Towards Gomorrah"
as: "A nation in such serious moral trouble that its very
foundation is crumbling: a nation that slouches not
towards the Bethlehem envisioned by the poet Yeats
in 1919, but towards Gomorrah."

An unborn child at fifteen weeks.

Although I pray daily for my nation and our leaders, I know in my
heart that the only person who can save us now is God.  But will He?
Or, will the greatest nation on the face of the earth soon be swept into
 the dustbin of history along with the rest of the once mighty world empires?

If the US Supreme Court should overturned Roe vs. Wade, long considered
 an impossibility by many, would God have mercy on America one last time?

Would He then drive the wicked from the high places of power
and restore our government with men and women of integrity,
those who, without compulsion, would humbly get down on their knees in
both chambers of our government and in the White House, to beseech the Lord
 for His forgiveness and mercy on behalf of the nation?

In the natural this seems impossible.

But with God all things are possible.

Keep praying!

Photo of Asia Bibi courtesy of Blanca Ruiz/ACI Prensa

Pakistani Christian Asia Bibi, who spent nine years in prison after being
accused of blasphemy against Islam, wants to be the voice of hope
for other persecuted Christians around the world.

As a guest speaker at the International Religious Freedom
 Summit held in Washington DC this month, Asia declared
that she "wants to be a voice for Christian people,
Christians in prison,  and in difficulties."

In 2010, Asia was falsely accused by a coworker of insulting Islam and
sentenced to death for violating Pakistan's law against blasphemy
of the Islamic religion.  During the nine agonizing years she was held in
a prison cell, she relied strongly on her faith in Christ to allay her fears.

"When I was in prison, I was very worried about my children and husband,"
she said.  I was not aware where they were and whether they were
 safe or not. At the same time, I had hope in the Lord.
 Thanks to all the brothers and sisters who prayed and fasted.
Because of their prayers, I am now free."

Asia also related a remarkable story which happened to her while
in prison, and which reminded her of the trial of the prophet Elijah,
when he hid in the wilderness from those seeking to kill him.

During one of the darkest times in prison, Asia said that a bird
 came daily to visit her.  She believes the creature was a messenger
from God, sent to strengthen her faith and trust in Him.

Two days before the Pakistani court sentenced Asia to death, a brown
bird with a long beak began appearing and sitting on the boundary wall
of the prison. The bird would return in the early evening.  Asia says
that the bird would sit there for about ten minutes each time and
that later they became friends and talked to each other.

Visits from the bird reminded Asia of the story of Elijah in the
wilderness: "The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning
and bread and meat in the evening and would drink from the brook."
(1 Kings 17:6)

 "As I watched this bird every day, I tried to understand the
meaning of him coming day after day. I think this is a messenger
from God giving me His message."  Asia said that after each
visit from the bird she would be left with a feeling
of encouragement and peace.

Although she was facing execution, the bird's visits provided
Asia with a glimmer of hope. Her faith was being sorely tested
 time and again while awaiting the possibility of death, and
 yet, even in the blackest moments, the promises of God
 never to leave nor forsake His children sustained her.

"Where could I go from your Spirit? Or where could I flee
from Your presence? If I ascend up into heaven, You are there;
if I make my bed in Sheol, behold you are there."
(Psalm 139:7-8)

In 2019,  Asia's conviction was overturned by
  Pakistan's Supreme Court.
After being freed from prison,
 however, she was forced into
hiding due to threats
from hardline Islamists in Pakistan angered by
 the court's decision to release her.

Thousands of radical Muslims took to the streets in protest,
 demanding her death.  Officials in Pakistan also tried
 to prevent her from leaving the country, however,
in May 2019, Asia was granted asylum in Canada,
where she was eventually reunited with her daughters.

Speaking via video message from Canada at this year's summit,
 Asia expressed her gratitude to the people who worked to secure
her release from prison, and especially praised God for His faithfulness.

"From the bottom of my heart I am thankful to the Lord who has rescued
 me from my sufferings and difficulties," Asia told her listening audience.
He has given me a fresh start and the opportunity to start
a new life with my family."

Full Buck Moon will rise after sunset tonight and will reach peak illumination
at 10:37 P.M. (EST).  Look towards the southeast to watch it rise above
the horizon.   July's full moon is called the Buck Moon because the

as the years go by."

A Moment Of Silence Long Overdue

For the first time since the murders of eleven Israeli athletes
  at the Munich Olympics in 1972, a moment of silence to honor
  their memory was observed during the opening ceremony
at this year's Olympic games held in Japan.

On the morning of September 5, 1972 the terrorists, wearing
 ski masks, infiltrated the Olympic Village and ambushed the Israeli team.
Two of the athletes were murdered.  The rest were taken hostage.

Portrait of Evil
Black September Terrorist
Munich 1972

   After negotiations with the West German authorities
 failed to meet the Palestinians' demands, the latter took
the hostages to the Munich airport.
 It was there that the German police opened fire
from ambush on the rooftops and killed three of the
terrorists.  A gun battle between the police and the
terrorists ensued during which the remaining
hostages were shot and killed, along with two
 members of the Palestinian group, and
a German police officer.

In the aftermath of the tragedy, then Prime Minister of Israel
Gold Meir authorized "Operation Wrath of God", a covert action
undertaken by the Mossad, Israel's intelligence service, to track down
 and assassinate the individuals involved in the 1972 massacre.
Those targeted were members of  Black September
and the Palestinian Liberation Organization.

After the passage of nearly fifty years, the victims of this
appalling tragedy are finally being remembered and honored
 at the Olympic Games.  A moment of silence long overdue.

"Today for the first time at the Olympic Games, the brutal massacre
of the 11 members of the Israeli delegation at the 1972 Munich Games
was officially mentioned," tweeted Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.
I welcome this important and historic moment. May they rest in peace."

O Lord, I would that I might live

A fearless life and free;

Rich in the joy that Thou dost give,

Now and  eternally.

O Lord, I would live straight and strong

In body, soul, and mind;

Unbound by habits that are wrong;

Joyous, true, and kind.

O Lord, my God,  I would love Thee

With all my strength each day;

And in Thy Son, my Savior, see

The Life, the Truth, the Way.

I trust the pledge of life He gives

Endless, full, and free;

I know that my Redeemer lives,

And shares His life with me.

My Faith Looks Up To Thee

My faith looks up to Thee,

Thou Lamb of Calvary, Savior divine;

Now hear me while I pray,

Take all my guilt away,

O let me from this day,

Be wholly Thine.

Illustration by Eloise Wilkin

May Thy rich grace impart

Strength to my fainting heart,

My zeal inspire;

As Thou hast died for me,

O may my love to Thee

Pure, warm, and changeless be,

A living fire.

While life's dark maze I tread,

And grief's around me spread,

Be Thou my Guide;

Bid darkness turn today

Wipe sorrow's tears away,

Nor let me ever stray

From Thee aside.

When ends life's transient dream,

When death's cold, sullen stream

Shall o'er me roll, Blest Savior,

then, in love,

Fear and distrust remove;

O bear me safe above,

A ransomed soul.

Derek Prince Devotional: Not Under Condemnation

"Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications!
In Your faithfulness answer me, and in Your righteousness.

And enter not into judgment with Your servant, for in Your sight
no man living is in himself righteous or justified.

For the enemy has pursued and persecuted my soul,
he has crushed my life down to the ground;
he has made me to dwell in dark places
as those who have been long dead."

(Psalm 143:1-3)

Derek Vaughn Prince
(1915-2003)
British-American Bible teacher

"The psalmist there was struggling with a dark force that attacks almost
every one of us at some time or another, the force of condemnation. Each of us
has an enemy, an accuser, one who seeks to make us feel guilty, unworthy, one
who reminds us of our failures and our shortcomings and our unworthiness,
and if we let him go on speaking to us he'll crush our life down to the ground.

The answer is the answer that the psalmist found.
 He turned to God and he prayed. And he said:

 "Give ear to my supplications.
  Answer me in Thy faithfulness,
 and in Thy righteousness."

When we are facing condemnation and a sense of unworthiness, it is most
important that we don't listen to the enemy any longer; that we turn to God and
that we appeal to God for help.  Not on the basis of our righteousness or our
faithfulness, but on the basis of God's righteousness and God's faithfulness.
That is the way out of condemnation. That's the way back to victory.

We don't ask God to enter into judgment with us, we ask Him to answer
on the basis of His righteousness and His faithfulness and when we do that,
we are released from that dark power of condemnation."

Maud

Come into the garden, Maud,

For the black bat, night, has flown,

Come into the garden, Maud,

I am here at the gate alone;

A Girl And Roses
(1879)
Auguste Toulmouche
(1829-1890)

And the woodbine spices are wafted abroad

And the musk of the rose is blown

For a breeze of morning moves,

And the planet of Love is on high,

Beginning to faint in the light that she loves

On a bed of a daffodil sky,

To faint in the light of the sun that she loves,

To faint in his light and die.

All night have the roses heard

The flute, violin, bassoon;

All night has the casement jessamine stirr'd

To the dancers dancing in tune;

Till a silence fell with the waking bird,

And a hush with the setting moon.

And the soul of the rose went into my blood,

As the music clashed in the hall;

And long by the garden lake I stood,

For I heard your rivulet fall

From the lake to the meadow and on to the wood,

Our wood, that is dearer than all;

From the meadow your walks have left so sweet

That wherever a March-wind sighs

He sets the jewel-print of your feet

In violets as blue as your eyes,

To the woody hollows in which we meet

And the valleys of Paradise.

The slender acacia would not shake

One long milk-bloom on the tree;

The white lake-blossoms fell into the lake

As the pimpernel dozed on the lea;

But the rose was awake all night for your sake,

Knowing your promise to me;

The lilies and roses were all awake,

They sigh'd for the dawn and thee.
