I Dreamt That I Dwelt In Marble Halls

I dreamt that I dwelt in marble halls,

With vassals and serfs at my side,

And of all who assembled within those walls

That I was the hope and the pride.

Image courtesy/Pinterest

I had riches too great to count, could boast

Of a high ancestral name;

But I also dreamt which pleased me most,

That you lov'd me still the same...

That you lov'd me, you lov'd me still the same.

That you lov'd me, you lov'd me still the same.

I dreamt that suitors sought my hand;

That knights upon bended knee,

And with vows no maiden heart could withstand,

They pledg'd their faith to me;

And I dreamt that one of that noble host

Came forth my hand to claim.

But I also dreamt, which charmed me most,

That you lov'd me still the same...

That you lov'd me, you lov'd me still the same...

That you lov'd me, you lov'd me still the same.

He Is The Desire Of My Heart

"Delight yourselves also in the Lord and He will give you
 the desires and secret petitions of your heart."
(Psalm 37:4)

Rejoice in the Lord always!  I say, Rejoice!

Let all people know and perceive and recognize your
unselfishness, your considerateness, your forbearing spirit.
 The Lord is near.  He is coming soon.

Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but, in every
 circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition, definite
 requests with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.

And God's peace shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured
of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and
being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace
 which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount
guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of
reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever
is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and
winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence,
if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh
 and take account of these things, fix your mind on them."

(Philippians 4:4-8)

Flashback Friday: Moonlight Becomes You

First sung by legendary crooner Bing Crosby in the 1942 movie,
"Road To Morocco"  this classic song has been covered by many
recording artists over the years, but none better than Ol' Blue Eyes,
  who recorded his version for the album, "Moonlight Sinatra" in 1966.

Full Harvest Moon Tonight

It is the Harvest Moon!  On gilded vanes

And roofs of villages, on woodland crests,

And their aerial neighborhoods of nests

Deserted, on the curtained window-panes

Of rooms where children sleep, on country lanes,

And harvest-fields, its mystic splendor rests!

Gone are the birds that were our summer guests,

With the last sheaves return the laboring wains!

This morning the Full Harvest Moon reached peak illumination at 5:58 A.M. EDT.
My view, however, was unfortunately obscured by clouds and rain showers,
but, I did see the moonrise on Thursday night and it was simply beautiful!

The rising of the Harvest Moon often occurs during the corn harvest.
In times past,  the silvery brilliance of the moon provided light for laborers
 bundling sheaves of corn through the night, which was a common practice
during harvest season, as portrayed in the painting above.

Tonight's moon will be the last in a succession of Super Moons for this year.
Luna will be joined in the sky by two of  earth's largest neighbors, Jupiter
and Saturn, as well as the smallest, the planet Mercury.

I am not sure the skies will clear off tonight here in my neck of the woods, but,
 I hope you'll able to see the moon where you're at my fellow sky watchers!

🌕 Shine on, Harvest Moon! 🌕

Thursday's Thoughts: Eternal Power Of Earth And Air!

"But God shows and clearly proves His own love for us by
 the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ the Messiah
died for us. Therefore, since we are now justified by Christ's blood,
how much more certain is it that we shall be saved by Him
from the indignation and wrath of God."

Eternal Power, of earth and air!

Unseen, yet seen in all around,

Remote, but dwelling everywhere,

Though silent, heard in every sound.

If e'er Thine ear in mercy bent,

When wretched mortals cried to Thee,

And if, indeed, Thy Son was sent,

To save lost sinners such as me:

Then hear me now, while, kneeling here,

I lift to Thee my heart and eye,

And all my soul ascends in prayer,

O give me, give me, faith! I cry.

Without some glimmering in my heart,

I could not raise this fervent prayer;

But, oh! a stronger light impart,

And in Thy mercy fix it there.

While faith is with me, I am blest;

It turns my darkest night to day;

But while I clasp it to my breast,

I often feel it slide away.

Then, cold and dark, my spirit sinks,

To see my light of life depart;

And every fiend of Hell methinks,

Enjoys the anguish of my heart.

What shall I do, if all my love,

My hopes, my toil, are cast away,

And if there be no God above,

To hear and bless me when I pray?

If this be vain delusion all,

If death be an eternal sleep,

And none can hear my secret call,

Or see the silent tears I weep!

Oh, help me, God! For Thou alone

Canst my distracted soul relieve;

Forsake it not: it is Thine own,

Though weak, yet longing to believe.

Oh, drive these cruel doubts away;

And make me know, that Thou art God!

A faith, that shines by night and day,

Will lighten every earthly load.

If I believe that Jesus died,

And, waking, rose to reign above;

Then surely sorrow, sin, and pride,

Must yield to peace and hope and love.

And all the blessed words He said

With strength and holy joy impart:

A shield of safety o'er my head,

A spring of comfort in my heart.

Wednesday's Word: German Homeschooling Family Once Again Faces Deportation

"And if a stranger dwells temporarily with you in your land,
you shall not suppress and mistreat him.  But the stranger who
 dwells with you shall be to you as one born among you; and you shall
love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt."
(Leviticus 19:33-34)

After a massive two week manhunt in Pennsylvania,  an escaped convicted murderer
who "crab-walked" his way up a wall and escaped from a Chester County prison,
was finally re-captured and re-incarcerated, this time at the maximum security
SCI Phoenix state prison in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

In 2017, Danel Calvacante fled his native Brazil after being labeled
 as the chief suspect in the murder of  Valter Junior Moreira dos Reis.
According to various media reports,  Calvacante gunned down his
victim in a remote area in the northern Brazilian state of Tocantins.

A warrant was issued for his arrest, however, in January 2018, the fugitive
managed to board a plane-using his own passport- and travel from
Brazil to Florida via Puerto Rico, and entered the United States illegally.

In 2021, Calvacante murdered his ex-girlfriend, Deborah Brandao by
 stabbing her to death inside her Schuylkill Township, Pennsylvania
home, a killing witnessed by her two children.

He was recently tried and and convicted of this heinous crime.

Calvacante is considered a violent criminal.

So, why was he being held in a minimum security county jail
 which he apparently had little trouble breaking out of?

While I am glad to know that this convicted murderer is back
 behind bars where he belongs, how many others like him are
on the run from the law, or, are being released from prisons
in South America and other places, and  being permitted to
 cross our southern borders, unchecked, on a regular basis,
due to the deliberate laxity of the Biden Administration?

Illegals are not only promised free welfare, free medical care,
education, driver's licenses, and other perks by the government,
but are being flown into communities all over the nation.

Meanwhile, a Christian family living in Tennessee, who were given asylum
  from Germany fifteen years ago, are now being threatened with deportation
by the Biden Administration.   In 2010, the nine member Romeike family sought
refuge in America due to their native country's strict rules against homeschooling,
laws which stretch back to the era of Nazi Germany.

While living in Bissingen, a district of Ludwigsburg, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany
Uwe and Hammelore Romeike had been subjected to criminal prosecution for
simply wanting to homeschool their children outside the state-approved system.
They faced exorbitant fines, the removal of their children from their home,
and imprisonment if they stayed in Germany.

  The family was eventually granted asylum in the United States
by a Memphis judge,
 despite the efforts of then President Barack Obama
 and Attorney General Eric Holder
to have them deported back to Germany.
 They have been living in Tennessee for almost a decade and two more children
 have been born to the family while two others have married American citizens.

  Now Uwe Romeike recently told NBC affiliate WBIR-TV that two weeks ago,
 an immigration agent instructed him to return to his office with his family
in four weeks with German passports, to deport themselves.

  Why is the Romeike family being singled out for deportation
 by our government when thousands of unchecked illegals,
some with criminal backgrounds like Danel Calvacante,
are freely traversing across our southern borders every single day?

  The family has no place to live in Germany and if they are forced
 to return there may once again face criminal charges, as the penalties against
  homeschooling have greatly increased in that nation over the last ten years.

A petition urging the Biden administration to allow the Romeike family
to stay in the United States was recently started by the Homeschool
Legal Defense Association.  I would like everyone reading this
post to please consider signing this petition in
support of the Romeike family.

Please keep them in your prayers.

Live Out Thy Life Within Me

"But if we really are living and walking in the Light, as He
 Himself is in the Light, we have true unbroken fellowship

Live out Thy life within me,

O Jesus, King of kings!

Be Thou Thyself the answer

To all my questionings;

Live out Thy life within me,

In all things have Thy way!

I, the transparent medium,

Thy glory to display.

The temple has been yielded,

And purified of sin,

Let Thy Shekinah glory

Now shine forth from within,

And all the earth keep silence,

The body henceforth be

Thy silent, gentle servant

Moved only as by Thee.

Its members every moment

Held subject to Thy call,

Ready to have Thee use them,

Or not be used at all,

Held without restless longing,

Or strain, or stress, or fret,

Or chafing at Thy dealings,

Or thoughts of vain regret.

But restful, calm, and pliant,

From bend and bias free,

Awaiting Thy decision,

When Thou hast need of me.

Live out Thy life within me,

O Jesus, King of kings!

Be Thou the glorious answer

To all my questionings.

Monday Meditation: When Fear Calls The Heart...Answer With His Words

 "No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life.
As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you."
(Joshua 1:5)

"The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?
The Lord is on my side and takes my part. He is among those who help me;
therefore shall I see my desire established upon those who hate me.
It is better to trust and take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in man."
(Psalm 118:6-8)

"The Lord is my Light and my Salvation-whom shall I fear
or dread? The Lord is the Refuge and Stronghold of my life-
of whom shall I be afraid?"
(Psalm 27:1)

"Do not let your hearts be troubled.  You believe in and adhere to and trust
 and rely on God; believe in and adhere to and trust and rely also on Me."
(John 1:1)

"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity-cowardice, of craven
and cringing and fawning fear- but He has given us a spirit of
power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind,
and discipline and self-control."
(II Timothy 1:7)

"Let you character or moral disposition be free from love of money,
including greed, avarice, lust, and cravings for possessions, and be
satisfied with your present circumstances and with what you have;
for He, God Himself, has said: "I will not in any way fail you nor
give you up nor leave you without support.  I will not in any
degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let you down.
Assuredly not!

1. We can trust the character and love of the Father in heaven to surpass
that of the best earthly father we have ever known or can imagine.

2. God still controls all the riches of earth and heaven. As a child of the King,
we are not to think poverty.   His promise to each of us: if you give of yourself,
your time, your material resources to others, I will open the windows
of heaven and pour down My blessing upon you.

3. God wants us to use all our mind, along with our emotions and will, to love
and serve Him. Therefore we need have no fear about where Truth will lead us.
He is still out ahead of the greatest scholars or scientists or theologians.

4. It was God who thought up romance in the first place. He alone, at the
center of the man-woman relationship, can give to physical attraction the
lustre, the idealism, the romance, the durability of which we dream.

5: Jesus came to earth to show us the Father's will.  He who created the
incredible human body still heals today, but not as a divine magician.
We need to seek His way, His timing, and the lessons
 He wants us to learn along the way.

6.  When life caves in, we are to seek God in our problem.
God has a plan for every life by which He will bring good out of evil.

7. We should never hesitate to try the impossible. God does have a special
work for us to do in the world. Should this involve a big dream, we must
believe that the bigger the dream, and the more loving and unselfish it is,
the greater will be God's blessing on it.

8.  God has special promises and provision for all those single parents
who must rear children alone.  We are not to clutch our children to ourselves.
What we hold too tightly, we can drive away or break. When we give our
children up to God, He will eventually give them back to us.

9. Since God made us for companionship, loneliness is not His plan for us.
But there is a price to be paid in seeking God's remedy, not ours.
This includes a decision to give up self-pity, the determination not to
compromise honor and purity and idealism, and the willingness to let
Him fill our heart's lonely places with His love which then can spill
out into loving concern for others.

10.  God is forever in the repair and restoration business. When we are
willing to be taught by Him and to make Him the center of the new home,
He will produce love and harmony and joy as He fits together the
pieces of two broken households.

11. Husbands and wives are basically incompatible. Parents are incompatible
with their children.  God made us all different.  That's why home is His classroom
for molding and shaping us into mature people.

12. God uses children and grandchildren to keep older people flexible.
When anyone of us has a painful experience that our mind cannot equate
with a loving God, there is this remedy: "I want You and Your presence,
Lord, even more than I want understanding.  I choose You."
When we ask this, He then gives peace and illumination as His gift.

However, there is a lot of deception appearing as truth these days.

The Lord warned us that in the last days, even the very elect
of God can and will be fooled by what is false, whether it be
aberrant teachings of Scriptural truths, encounters with
"alien beings" or "UFO sightings".

This is why it is imperative that believers rely on the leading

Wednesday's Word: There Is Beauty All Around (When There's Love At Home)

"Through skillful and godly Wisdom a home is built, and by
 understanding it is established on a sound and good foundation.
And by knowledge shall its chambers of every area be filled
 with all precious and pleasant riches."
(Proverbs 24: 3-4)

There is beauty all around, When there's love at home;

There is joy in every sound, When there's love at home.

Peace and plenty here abide, Smiling sweet on every side

Time doth softly, sweetly glide, When there's love at home.

In the cottage there is joy, When there's love at home;

Hate and envy ne'er annoy, When there's love at home.

Roses blossom 'neath our feet, All the earth's a garden sweet,

Making life a bliss complete, When there's love at home.

Kindly heaven smiles above, When there's love at home;

All the earth is filled with love, When there's love at home.

Sweeter sings the brooklet by, Brighter beams the azure sky;

O there's One who smiles on high, When there's love at home.

Jesus, make me wholly Thine, Then there's love at home;

May Thy sacrifice be mine, Then there's love at home.

Safely from all harm I'll rest, With no sinful care distressed,

Through Thy tender mercy blest; Then there's love at home.

The Number Of Weeks Is Much More Important?

"As you know not what is the way of the wind, or how the spirit
comes to the bones in the womb of a pregnant woman, even so
you know not the work of God, Who does all."
(Ecclesiastes 11:5)

According to an article I read this morning in The Washington Stand,
pro-life advocates are troubled over the recent comments made by
former President Donald Trump in which he proposed bringing
'a peaceful resolution' between the pro-life movement and the
abortion industry in this nation if re-elected in 2024.

According to the article, Mr. Trump told Kristen Welker, host of the
NBC Sunday morning program, "Meet The Press":  "I would sit down
 with both sides, and I'd negotiate something, and we'll end up with peace
on that issue for the first time in 52 years."

When Welker pointedly asked whether he will sign national legislation
protecting unborn children from abortion beginning at 15 weeks,
Trump's glib response was, "I'm not going to say I would or I wouldn't."

It looks to me as if the former president, who once strongly and
 firmly asserted his role in the federal protection of unborn children,
has now become a reticent fence-sitter in this most heart-wrenching
 and controversial debate in the history of America.

When asked if he would leave abortion to the states to decide,
Trump replied, "No, I don't think you should be allowed to have
abortions well into the pregnancy."  However, he added, "I
think it's probably better to make it a state issue.  I can
live with it either way since the number of weeks is
much more important."

"...the number of weeks is much more important?"

Unfortunately, Mr. President, there is much more involved here than "the
number of weeks."  God is very clear in His Word that He overshadows
 the mysterious undertaking of development inside a mother's womb
between the time of conception and birth.

"For You did form my inward parts; You did knit me together in
my mother's womb.  I will confess and praise You for You are fearful
and wonderful and for the awful wonder of my birth!  Wonderful are
Your works, and that my inner self knows right well.   My frame was
not hidden from You when I was being formed in secret and intricately
and curiously wrought, as if embroidered with various colors, in
the depths of the earth.  Your eyes saw my unformed substance,
and in Your book all the days of my life were written before
ever they took shape, when yet there was none of them."
(Psalm 139:13-16)

     Trump's appearance on "Meet The Press" came just hours after his attendance at
the 2023 Pray Vote Stand Summit in Washington DC where he promoted himself
as "the most pro-life president in American history."  Now, many pro-life
voters are questioning his proposal made on national television to
 bring the two opposing forces on the abortion issue together in
attempts to "negotiate" a compromise between them.

This ongoing battle is not about politics, Mr. President.  Nor is it a
popularity contest.  This about preserving the sanctity of human life.
    This is about protecting human beings made in the likeness
 and image of their Creator.

 Trump's preposterous suggestion of a "peace" between these two
strongly opposing factions would not only be a waste of time, but
in the case of the abortion industry and its advocates, would
be akin to throwing pearls before swine.

The pro-death alliance in America is driven by a satanic militancy,
an industry so blinded by profound greed and selfishness, not
to mention the worship of filthy lucre, which they receive for
the cold-blooded murders of innocent life inside the womb,
and in the mutilation of women who feel, or have been
falsely led to believe, that they have no alternative
than to have an abortion.

Meanwhile, there are politicians on both sides of the aisle
whom seek to placate and protect the abortion industry
which they call, "reproductive rights" or simply,
"a woman's right to control her own body."

We live in a society in which a woman can walk into an abortion
 clinic and exercise her "right to control her own body" by terminating
the life of her unborn child, and yet, if this same  woman was to choose to rob
a convenience store and shoots and kills the clerk behind the counter in
 the process, she is charged with murder and will
 be sent to prison for many years.

There are political leaders who claim to be against abortion,
with the exceptions of rape and incest.  So, if a woman is raped
and becomes pregnant as a result,  should she then subject herself to
 being assaulted once again, possibly mutilated, by having an abortion?
Will the pain of being sexually assaulted and humiliated somehow
 be assuaged once she aborts her child?

What if there were alternatives to Planned Parenthood clinics,
places where she could go to receive care and counseling throughout
her unwanted pregnancy?  Why can't Congress come up with enough
funds to support pregnancy crisis centers where the whole woman
is treated with love and respect, and where she might just
realize that she wants to keep her baby despite the adverse
circumstances which brought him or her into the world?

According to research from the Guttmacher Institute, only one
percent of all abortions involve rape, and less than half
 a percent are a result of incest.

As Ryan Bomberger,  founder of The Radiance Foundation, said,
"It's 'inarticulate' to fail to be decisive about why every
 human life matters and should be protected. "

 Meanwhile, Pam Stenzel, a pro-life advocate
and abstinence educational speaker had this to say:
"I don't believe I deserve the death penalty because of the
crime of my biological father."

Both Ryan Bomberger and Pam Stenzel were conceived in rape.

President Trump's remarks about Governor Ron DeSantis, his chief challenger
 in the 2024 presidential race, were equally disturbing to many pro-life voters,
after he called the governor's signing of  The Heartbeat Protection Act
"a terrible thing and a terrible mistake".  Why would the self-proclaimed,
"most pro-life president in America" make such a charge?

Trump seems to be particularly targeting DeSantis for enacting this
historic legislation to transform the state of Florida into a sanctuary
state where the dignity of human life is respected, and protected.

But is this the real reason behind the "war of words" between Donald Trump
and  Ron DeSantis these days?

Perhaps it was the governor's own heartfelt words that convicted Trump's
heart at the 2023 Stand Pray Vote Summit when DeSantis told his audience,
 "to be a strong leader, one has to put on the full armor of God."

"I don't know how you could be a leader without having faith in God,"
DeSantis said,  "It is faith in God that gives you the strength to
  stand firm against the lies, against the deceit, against the opposition."

If anyone should know how the lies and deceit of the opposition
seek to destroy someone it should be Donald Trump. I have never
in my lifetime witnessed such terrible and unjust persecution
lobbied at a former sitting President of the United States.

But perhaps the reproving words spoken by his opponent
for the White House has made Donald Trump realize, albeit
grudgingly, that one can never compromise with God.

You either stand up for what is right or you don't stand up at all.

President Trump's indecision on the abortion issue brings to mind
  the story about a group of people who died and entered eternity,
where they encountered a fence separating Heaven and Hell.

 Every member of this group eagerly skirted around the fence and
entered Heaven, except  for one older gentleman who rested against it,
apparently undecided about where he should go.

   After a while, the devil came strolling out of Hell and up to the fence.

 The devil asked the man, "Why are you standing here?

The old man answered, "Well, I am having a hard time making
up my mind about which side of the fence I should be on."

The devil then smiled at him and replied, "Well, that's okay.
 After all, you have a right to make up your own mind.
But just so you know, I own the fence."

Monday Meditation: Not So In Haste! My Heart

"For from of old no one has heard nor perceived by the ear,
nor has seen a God besides You, Who works and shows Himself
active on behalf of him who earnestly waits for Him."
(Isaiah 64:4)

"Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather
into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them.
Are you not worth much more than they?"
(Matthew 6:26)

Not so in haste, my heart!

Have faith in God and wait;

Although He linger long,

He never comes too late.

He never cometh late;

He knoweth what is best;

Vex not thyself in vain;

Until He cometh, rest.

Until He cometh, rest,

Nor grudge the hours that roll;

Thy feet that wait for God

Are soonest at the goal.

Are soonest at the goal

That is not gained by speed;

Then hold thee still, my heart,

For I shall wait His lead.

Sunday Night In Uncle Walt's Vault: Fantasia - Clair de Lune 1940 (Moonlight)

From the animated classical masterpiece, "Fantasia" (1940)
 this missing segment was not found and restored until 1992.

 Set to the hauntingly beautiful melody of "Clair de Lune" a lone
egret finds companionship in a bayou on a peaceful full moon night,
as the great innovative mind of Walt Disney had envisioned it,
  in a time when much of the world was swept up in
the turmoil of World War II.

 "The Lord will send forth from Zion the scepter of Your strength;
rule, then, in the midst of Your foes."
(Psalm 110:2)

As the threat of war looms over Israel and the Middle East these days,
we are reminded through this beautiful song, based on the 110th psalm,
 of how God gave Israel victory over her enemies in times past.
