Rare Planetary Line-Up This Friday

This Friday morning (at least 40 minutes before dawn)
avid sky watchers are in for a rare celestial treat, when
five planets, along with the waning moon, will be
visible in the sky at the same time.

One of the celestial highlights of the year, the so-called, "naked eye planets"
(those that can be seen without the aid of a telescope) namely- Mercury,
Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn- will be aligned in their
true planetary order out from the sun.

According to the Old Farmer's Almanac and astronomer Gary Sertonik,
"It's been about 100 years since a similarly compact parade of planets
graced our skies".   We will have to wait until the year 2041
to see such an arrangement again.

I just hope the skies are clear in my neck of the woods on Friday morning!
And, wherever you hang your hat too, my fellow sky watchers!
