Monday Meditation: Jehovah-Jireh/God Our Provider

"And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold,
behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by his horns:
and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him
up for a burnt offering in stead of his son.

And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh:
as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen."
(Genesis 22: 13-14)

In the story of Abraham's offering of  Isaac, as a type of Christ,
Isaac was "obedient unto death" in regards to the will and purpose
of God, while Abraham represents the Father, who "spared
not His own Son, but delivered Him up to us all."
 (Romans 8:32)

It was never God's intention to sacrifice Isaac.  God would never
allow a human being to be used as a burnt-offering on an altar.
In the fullness of time, the Blessed Seed, God's only begotten,
 perfect Son, would take our place on the cross at Calvary;
the precious shed blood of the Lamb of God provided
a covering for all sin, and a reprieve from the death
sentence handed down to all human beings
through the fall of Adam.

"In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen."
Jehovah-jireh will always provide for those who love and obey Him.
