Flashback Friday: Philadelphia Freedom

In keeping with my earlier post remembering "the shot heard around the world"
which marked the beginning of the American Revolution,  the number one
song in America on this day in 1975 was "Philadelphia Freedom" by the
phenomenal English singer-pianist Sir Elton John.

Released in February, 1975  a year before America's Bicentennial Celebration,
this song is played in the Franklin Institute's IMAX Theater in Philadelphia
before every show as a tribute to the city's love of freedom and its
impact on the country.  The lyrics of the song are also printed
on the walls of the city's Hard Rock Cafe.
