Myles Coverdale (1488-1569) was an English ecclesiastical reformer and Bible translator,
hymn writer, and Anglican clergyman who served briefly as the Bishop of Exeter. In
1535, he produced the first printed translation of the full Bible into early modern English,
completing the earlier translations of William Tyndale, a leading figure in the
Protestant Reformation, who was burned at the stake for heresy in 1536.
