Why Israel?

A relevant teaching in these perilous times...

 Standing With Israel

While it is true that the Jewish people initially rejected Yeshua (Jesus) as their Messiah, and many still do to this day, according to the Bible, He is their Messiah. From Genesis to Revelation, the scriptures attest to Him as the Messiah of the nation of Israel and her people. He came to save "the lost sheep" of the house of Israel.

Israel is God's chosen nation, however, modern Israel, not unlike their biblical ancestors, stands in much rebellion to Him. Israel today is a far more secular than religious society. Unfortunately, mirroring the United States of America, they have one of the highest abortion rate in the world. However, unlike the oil-rich, hostile Arab nations surrounding them,Israel has one of the highest standards of living in the world. It is the lone democracy in the Middle East, and grants all her citizens, both Jew and Arab alike, the right to religious freedom, free education, healthcare, employment, etc.

There are Arab members of Israel's Knesset (parliament) and Arab judges elected to serve in Israeli courts. Why God chose the Jews to be His own people and nation and to bring salvation to the world through them by His Son remains the greatest of all unsolved mysteries. But it does explain, at least in my mind, why this particular group of people has been singled out and targeted for annihilation since the beginning of recorded history by the god of this world (Satan) and his many emissaries in human form. It also explains why there are still Jews on the earth today. Throughout world history, many people and nations have blamed the Jews for the death of Jesus on the cross. However, it was the will of God Himself to sacrifice His own Son for the salvation of the world, which was foretold by the Prophet Isaiah:

"Yet, it was the will of the Lord to bruise Him: He has put Him to grief and made Him sick. When You and He make His life an offering for sin, and He has risen from the dead, in time to come, He shall see His spiritual offspring, He shall prolong His days, and the will and pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. He shall see the fruit of His travail of His soul and be satisfied; by His knowledge of Himself which He possesses and imparts to others, shall My righteous One, My Servant, justify many and make righteous, upright and in right standing with God, for He shall bear their iniquities and their guilt with the consequences, says the Lord." Isaiah 53:10-11

If I have read the Gospel account correctly, the Jews in the crowd watching the crucifixion of Jesus cursed themselves, not only by rejecting Him as their Messiah, but boldly declaring, "Let His blood be on us and our children!" This self-inflicted curse was an open invitation for Satan, the enemy of the souls of mankind, the liar and murderer, to come in and destroy succeeding generations of the Jewish people for nearly 2,000 years, culminating in the horror of the Holocaust.

While Jesus hung in terrible agony on the cross, He was more concerned with the souls of the people killing Him than His own suffering. Jesus loved the people jeering and mocking Him. That's why He asked, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." This single, yet profound statement, spoken by the Lord from the cross, gives absolutely no excuse to people whom over the centuries, bowed their knees to the lies and deception of the enemy, and have unduly accused, persecuted and murdered the Jewish people, calling them "Christ-killers" \
and other horrible names.

Jesus forgave the Jews for their rejection of Him as well as His Roman executioners. It seems however, that His declaration of forgiveness has been conveniently forgotten even by the those representing the Church, whom have chosen to hate and blame the Jewish people and Israel for all the troubles in the world, both yesterday and today.

However, despite the raging spirit of Antichrist
visibly at large in the world today,
 there are many Jewish people
all over the world who are coming to accept
Yeshua (Jesus) as their Lord and Messiah.

Many Jewish people are finding
the love and mercy and forgiveness
 they have longed for,
as well as fulfilling their need
 for eternal salvation,
by coming to believe in the Son of God,
  Yeshua Ha'Mashiach.

Unfortunately, there will also be Jews and Gentiles alike
 who will reject Him.
All we can do for these people
is pray for them and hope that somehow
God will be able to change their hearts.

Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged,

and people of Israel.

who are really the enemies of God.
