On My Mind: Why Standing Behind Our President Is Important

"IT'S MORNING AGAIN IN AMERICA..."
(1984 Political Slogan For President Ronald Reagan)

President Ronald Reagan greets future President Donald Trump
at a ceremony in the White House.

Is it really morning in America once again?

On election night in 2016, the prayers of many Americans, myself included,
were answered in a most astonishing, miraculous turn-of-events, as Republican
candidate and billionaire businessman Donald Trump won the White House in
a political landslide against Democratic opponent, former First Lady and
Secretary of State, Senator Hillary Clinton.

His critics will not even acknowledge the words, "political landslide".

And although the media was quick to counter President Trump's victory
with the news that Senator Clinton won the "popular vote"  even in the Blue
or Democrat-controlled states which went to Clinton, like my own state of New Jersey,
there were large enclaves of the population, particularly in the southern half,
who stood in lines outside polling places for hours on Election Day
in order to cast their votes for Donald Trump.

Yet, almost two years later, the news media and the political Left are still
debating if Donald Trump won the presidency legally. They have produced scandal
after scandal to prove their claim while doing everything in their power
to try to discredit and destroy his presidency.

I know in my heart that it could have only been Almighty God who allowed
Donald Trump to win the White House that night.  In less than 24 hours,
many distraught American citizens saw their mourning change to dancing,
their sorrow over what seemed lost forever into a joyous celebration of hope.
For many people across this nation, the dawn of the day after Election Night
heralded the first real morning in America again in a long, long, time.

Furthermore, while I realize that President Trump is no President Reagan,
and I am sure our candid Commander-In-Chief would be the first person to
admit as much,  President Trump has certain qualities like his predecessor.
First and foremost, he is not afraid to mention the name of God during
his speeches.  Throughout his eight years in the White House, President
Reagan often alluded to the fact that God has certainly blessed the
nation which became the United States of America. I believe when
he said, "God bless America" he truly mean't it.
I believe the same about President Trump.

Another Reagan-like quality Mr. Trump imbues is strong leadership,
echoing The Gipper's "peace through strength" initiative. Our president
is not intimidated by the media and the political Left and he is working
in the best interests of the American people, both here and abroad.
Remember, many of our so-called allies in the world did not like
President Reagan either.  And why didn't they?  The simple reason
is that he, and now President Trump, believe that which benefits
the American people should be first on the list in regards to
international political affairs. He also believes in providing
a strong military for the defense and security of our nation.

As for Trump's tough stance on the subject of immigration,
let's critically examine the European Union's policy to open
national borders to unchecked immigration.  For almost 20
years now, the continent has been besieged by waves of refugees
primarily from war-torn areas of Africa and the Middle East.
These refugees are mostly poor and ignorant and have come to
Europe seeking a better life.  However, there are also many who have
come from Islamic countries, bringing with them a religious mandate to
suppress and conquer their host nations, "In the name of Allah".

While going into all the details on this issue would undoubtedly double the
length of this post, I would like to recommend two enlightening books on
the subject of the unchecked Islamic immigration in Europe
which were written by the late Italian  journalist Oriana Fallaci.

"The Rage and The Pride" (2001)  and "The Force of Reason" (2004)
were considered best-sellers across Europe at the time of their
initial release, however, Ms. Fallaci was later ostracized by
politically correct leaders and the media in her native Italy.

Her remaining years  were spent living in New York City due to
the controversy her books caused, but that is only because
Oriana was not afraid to tell the truth!  Furthermore,
everything she warned her fellow Italians and others about
in her books has become a tragic reality in most of Europe today.

Meanwhile, in America, the laws regarding immigration have been
so misused over the years that we now have a refugee crisis on our borders.
President Trump had to get tough and put a stop to people illegally
penetrating our borders by having those who do arrested and their
children taken away from them.  Although the media and the
political Left have had a field day demonizing our president as
a big bad bully, he was merely enforcing what has been the
standard policy on immigration for many, many years now.

President Trump does not agree with the plans of the Democratic
Party to copy what has been going on in Europe and open our
nations' borders to just anyone seeking to come here
and live without being required to become American citizens.
While most of the immigrants who have come here in the past
fifty years or so come primarily from Mexico and points south
and have been coming to look for work and to seek a better
life for themselves and their families, there are also those
coming here who are known criminals and terrorists
seeking to harm our people and destroy our nation.

This is what President Trump is determine to stop.

I think it is a tragedy that the Democrats, at least the
more prominent members of that party, are refusing to
cooperate with our president to resolve this issue. The
Dems had no problem setting a deadline for the American
people to register for healthcare or end up being fined by
the IRS during the Obama Administration.

Why couldn't a similar type of law be enacted
for illegal aliens seeking asylum here?  Why can't there
be a time limit for them to register to become citizens
and, if they miss the set deadline, then they will face
deportation back to their country of origin, or, will
face jail time if they remain openly defiant of the law?

I believe the American people, like myself, who believe in
our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness need to
stand behind our president's efforts to keep us safe and to
protect our freedom from those who want to take it away from us.

And I'm not just talking about illegal immigrants with criminal
records and terrorists committed to a satanically-inspired ideology.
The greatest enemies of the American people are a lot closer to home.

So let us stand behind President Trump and in doing so,
we will be taking a stand to protect our cherished freedom,
and to preserve the freedom of generations of Americans yet to come.

"And proclaim liberty throughout the land
to all its inhabitants."
