Arise My Love

 "Humbly she confesses that
she is just a common flower of the field.
"No, He replies,
She makes the others
 look like thorn bushes."

  Richard S. Johnson

"They say there is a young lady here
who is beloved of that Great Being,
who made and rules the world,
who fills her mind
 with exceeding sweet delight,
and that she hardly cares for anything,
except to meditate on Him.

Therefore, if you present
 all the world before her,
with the richest of its treasures,
she disregards it,
and cares not for it,
and is unmindful
of any pain or affliction.

She has a strange
sweetness of mind,
and a singular purity
in her affections;
is most just and conscientious
in all her conduct;
you could not persuade her
to do anything wrong or sinful
if you would give her
 all the world.

She will sometimes go about
 from place to place,
singing sweetly,
and seems to be
always full of joy and pleasure;
and no one knows what for.

She loves to be alone,
walking in the fields and groves,
and seems to have
Someone Invisible
always conversing with her."

"My beloved speaks and says to me
Rise up, my love, my fair one,
 and come away.
 For behold, the winter is past;
the rain is over and gone.
The flowers appear on the earth;
the time of the singing of birds has come
and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.
The fig tree puts forth and ripens her green figs
and the vines are in blossom and give forth their fragrance.
Arise, my love, my fair one,
 and come away."

Song of Solomon 2:10-13

"Jesus answered her,
All who drink of this water will be thirsty again.
But whoever takes a drink of the water
 that I will give them
shall never, be thirsty anymore.
But the water that I will give them
shall become a spring of water
welling up within them into eternal life."
John 4:13-14

A capable, intelligent, and virtuous woman-
who is he who can find her?
She is far more precious than jewels
and her value is far above rubies or pearls."
Proverbs 31:10

Vladimir Volegov

“Godly womanhood….
the very phrase sounds strange in our ears.
 We never hear it now.
We hear about every other type of women:
beautiful women, smart women,
 sophisticated women, career women,
 talented women, divorced women.
But so seldom do we hear
 of a godly women–
or of a godly man either
 for that matter.
We believe women
 come nearer to fulfilling
 their God-given function
in the home than anywhere else.
It is a much nobler thing
to be a good wife,
 than to be Miss America.
 It is a greater achievement
 to establish a Christian home
 than it is to produce
 a second-rate novel
 filled with filth.
It is a far, far better thing
in the realms of morals
 to be old-fashioned,
than to be ultra modern.
The world has enough women
who know how to be smart.
It needs women who are willing
 to be simple.
 The world has enough women
who know how to be brilliant.
 It needs some who
 will be brave.
 The world has enough women
 who are popular.
 It needs more
 who are pure.
We need woman,
 and men, too,
who would rather be
 morally right
than socially correct.”

Reverend Peter Marshall
1902-1949
Twice elected
Chaplain of the United States Senate

Godly women are needed...
for such a time as this...
