Sarah Heath and Todd Palin
I was genuinely shocked and saddened this morning after
learning that former Alaska governor Sarah Palin and her
husband of 31 years, Todd, are allegedly getting a divorce.
The old saying about fame being a double-edged sword is true.
Although I greatly admire the achievements of Sarah Palin,
a woman of my generation, first as the governor of Alaska,
and then as John McCain's scene stealing running mate
in the 2008 presidential election race, not to mention
sharing her love of America and our traditions as a
nation, the glare of being thrust into the national spotlight
and the loss of privacy for both herself and her family
has apparently taken its toll.
The Palin Family
Husband Todd Palin, who has spent a good
chunk of his married life as the handsome "First Dude"
an unobtrusive spectator of his wife's meteoric political
career, and who, along with the couple's five children,
has endured the overwhelmingly negative focus of the
duplicitous mainstream media, as well as their mockery
of his wife and children, has filed for divorce,
citing "incompatibility of temperament" that makes
"it impossible to live together as husband and wife."
Calling All Prayer Warriors!
It's War Room Time!
While much of the news media gleefully gloats about the
break up of this couple, I pray that God will bless Todd
and Sarah and keep them and their family safe from all
the schemes of the enemy of their souls. I pray that He will
heal the wounds and restore what has been lost in this marriage
and bring them and their family together again in the spirit
of love and mercy, forgiveness, and the "peace which
surpasses all understanding" found only in and through
Our Lord Jesus Christ.
