Flashback Friday: Wonderful Summer

"I want to thank you for giving me
The most wonderful summer of my life...
It was so heavenly...You meant the world to me,
And anyone could see that I was so in love..."

Recorded at the height of the Surf Music craze, with
bird and ocean wave sound effects, "Wonderful Summer"
by American singer Robin Ward became a huge hit in 1963,
selling one million copies in the United States.

Released by Dot Records as a 45 rpm single, this bittersweet
memory of a summer romance and the eventual parting at
the season's end reached No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100
and No.23 on the Hot R & B Singles chart that year.
