Yom Ha'atzmaut Israel's 70th Independence Day 1948-2018

From the ashes of the Holocaust rose the nation of Israel,
reborn in a single day-May 14 1948.

Happy Independence Day Eretz Israel!

The Flag of Israel

As long as within our hearts

The Jewish soul sings,

As long as forward to the East

To Zion,  looks the eye-

Our hope is not yet lost,

It is two thousand years old,

To be a free people in our land

The land of Zion and Jerusalem.

"And I will bless those who bless you,
who confer prosperity or happiness upon you
and curse him who curses or uses insolent language
toward you; in you all the families and kindred of
the earth be blessed, and by you they will bless themselves."
Genesis 12:3

"Hatikvah" which means "The Hope" is the nation anthem of Israel.
It was written in 1886 by the poet  Naphtali Herz Imber.

The musical score was written by Samuel Cohen,
and based on the theme from Bedirch Smetana's "Moldau"
