On My Mind: The Freedom Convoy

I took another poll this morning asking me how I felt
about the Freedom Convoy of Canadian truckers in Ottawa
and other cities across that nation who have been demanding an
end to the Covid-19 vaccine mandates  and other restrictions there.

I see the truckers as symbolic of the deep yearning of people everywhere
for freedom, and especially from the overreach of tyrannical government.
The Freedom Convoy's courageous actions have further revealed
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's true colors.

He is a privileged coward, riding the coattails of his family name, who
went into hiding to avoid facing the wrath of the Canadian people,
before emerging back into the public eye armed with
new re-enforcements against them, like invoking the
Emergencies Act, which grants authorities the right to clear
out protest encampments which have blocked traffic in
the streets of the capital city of Ottawa for three weeks.

Trudeau's emergency orders also cut off funds to protestors,
which set off alarms across Canada's financial industry, forcing
both portfolio managers and securities firms to scrutinize
their business clientele.  Trudeau's new rules will require
Canadian banks, investment firms, credit unions, loan companies,
securities dealers, fundraising platforms, insurance companies
and fraternal benefit societies to determine, according to a
recent Fortune. com report, "whether they're in
possession or control of property" of a person who's
attending an illegal protest or  "providing supplies to
demonstrators" at the Freedom Convoy rallies.

If they find such as person on their customer list,
according to Fortune, they must freeze their accounts
and report it to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police or
Canada's intelligence service, the regulations say.
Furthermore, any suspicious transactions must be
reported to Canada's anti-money-laundering
agency, known as Fintrac.

It seems that in his brief absence, Justin Trudeau
received a "pep talk" from his handlers. He believes these
newly implemented measures taken against the people of Canada
are "reasonable and proportionate" to the threat the country is
facing in the wake of the Freedom Convoy.

In reality, PM Trudeau is just another bought-and-paid for
puppet, like the buffoon Biden, whose timorous strings are
clearly being manipulated by his New World Order
masters at work behind the scenes.

Furthermore, the Canadian news media is a carbon copy of the deceitful
American media, with some outlets declaring that the Freedom Convoy
has been "infiltrated" by protesters bearing Nazi and Confederate flags,
which they wrongly assume links the entire Freedom Convoy movement
with the racial bigotry and hatred of the political Far Right.

It seems to me that whenever government overreach is
challenged these days by average citizens, who are simply
reacting to their rights being trammeled on, as with the
Covid-19 mandates and restrictions, and standing up for
their rights is publicly lauded by conservative lawmakers,
whether in Canada or the United States, the nasty news media
springs into action, and begins circulating stories of "incitement"
by "extreme right-wing groups" within the crowds of relatively
peaceful protesters, suggesting that the collective demands
for justice and freedom are somehow tainted, and should
be considered dangerous, even criminal, actions
 being taken against the government.

And now we are seeing the results of the media's meddling in
order to condemn the movement, with many arrests of what they
have deemed "the occupiers" protesting in the streets of Ottawa.

Will the influence of the Freedom Convoy last?  While I applaud the
brave stance taken by the truckers and the people in Canada, fighting
back and standing up for their rights, I am not sure of anything
these days.  I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens next.
