On My Mind: Parents' Rights

"Children are a gift from the Lord.  They are a reward from Him."
(Psalm 127:3)

I not only believe parents should have every right to access and to question the
curriculum being taught to their children without worrying if the FBI will show
up on their doorstep, but, everyone whose local taxes go to support the school
districts in their area should be made aware of what is going on inside the classrooms.

Teachers and school administrators who have bowed their knees to the dictates of
political correctness and are not teaching, but are willfully indoctrinating impressible
young minds and corrupting morals through the twin evils of Critical Race Theory/
Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation should be fired from their jobs.

Our children are America's future.  They not only need to be taught reading, writing,
and arithmetic, but, to learn America's true history, the United States Constitution,
and civics, or the study of government.  Bringing back Home Economics, Auto Repair,
and Wood Shop classes for both boys and girls would be good ideas too.
Learning how to plant a garden and grow vegetables would be a great study
in the fields of both ecology and economic thrift.

Hands on learning as to how to bake a cake and sew a button on a shirt, or how
to do an oil change or fix a flat tire, or how to make a shelf or a chair, harvesting
a bumper crop of tomatoes and zucchini, plus being wise to the many practical
uses for WD-40 and duct tape, can all be considered essential life skills.

And while I am not opposed to general, age appropriate, health/sex education
classes being taught in public schools, which teach the difference between men and
women's physical make up, and where babies come from, etc. I think our youth
would greatly benefit through the teaching of abstinence and that developing
a healthy sense of self-respect for themselves and for others is a great advantage.

While I know more "open-minded" educators and others will likely roll their
eyes at this supposedly outdated and unrealistic concept, learning to wait might
well prevent a lot of despair and regret in the lives of our young people.

I further feel parents or legal guardians should be notified of the sex education
curriculum beforehand, and should have to either give their consent, and /or be invited
into the classroom to hear and observe for themselves what is being taught to their kids.
