In keeping with my earlier post today honoring those who served in Vietnam,
this spirited ballad was the number one song in America this last week of
March in 1966. Written and performed by Staff Sergeant Barry Sadler,
"The Ballad Of The Green Berets" was one of the few songs of the
war years to cast the military in a positive light.
