Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) 10th of Tishrei, 5778

יום הכיפורים

Known as the Day of Atonement,
Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the year for
observant Jews around the world. A time of atonement,
for the repentance of sin, this is a day of intense prayer
and fasting, with many people attending services
for the entire day at a synagogue.
Yom Kippur completes the High Holy Days,
often called, "the Days of Awe".

Believers in Messiah Yeshua are not
required to observe the Day of Atonement
simply because He provided total sufficiency,
or atonement for us with our Father
by the shedding of His precious
blood on the cross.

"Day of Atonement"
Zola Levitt
(2012)

If you make the most High your dwelling place,
Then no harm will befall you
For he will command His angels,
To guard you in all your ways.

May you shine like the stars in the heavens
And be clothed all in white
May you dwell as a pillar, in the Temple
And eat of the Tree of Life.
(refrain)

Look to the Lord and His strength
Seek His face always
Then Your eyes will see the glory of the Lord
As you walk in paths of righteousness.

May your name be written in the Book of Life
As those who fear and honor the Lord
May you be God's treasured possession,
Hating evil and loving what is good.
