Out of the depths of the deep blue sea...
This past Memorial Day, a massive skull washed ashore
at Island Beach State Park in Ocean County, New Jersey.
Although the bone structure resembles the beaked head of a
long ago prehistoric creature, it has since been identified as
the ventral, or lower jaw and skull of a minke whale.
