On My Mind: Leah Sharibu

"I will not deny Jesus Christ."
-Leah Sharibu

Leah Sharibu
Islamic captive

On February 19, 2018 in the Yobe State of northeastern Nigeria
110 schoolgirls were abducted by the Islamic terrorist group
Boko Haram, which in English means, "Westernization is sacrilege".
Among those taken captive was a young Christian woman
named Leah Sharibu.

Although most of the girls taken have since been released,
Leah remains behind because she refused to renounce her
faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and convert to Islam.

Only days ago, Leah had her 18th birthday.  This time of
celebrating her hopes and dreams for the future has been marred
due to her enslavement by these sadistic jihadists.  It has been reported
that she recently gave birth to a second child fathered by one of her captors.

Almost every day Christians in Nigeria live in dread of deadly violence which
they suffer at the hands of Islamic jihadist groups like Boko Haram.
Women and children are especially vulnerable to the same fate
of being abducted and taken captive like Leah Sharibu.

Please keep sister Leah and all of our Nigerian brethren in
your prayers.  Deliver them, Lord, from this living hell on earth.

Maranatha!
