First Little House, Now Dr. Suess

One of the books which taught me both the

joy of reading and the power of the imagination

as a little girl is now under attack.

The Cancel Culture strikes again!

An illustration from the classic book,
"And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street"
By Dr. Suess

The Asian character above in the Dr. Suess' classic book,
"And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street"
is described as a "Chinaman who eats with sticks".

Apparently,  Dr.Suess Enterprises, whose focus over the years
has been to preserve the life works and legacy of the famous
Springfield Massachusetts author/illustrator, has caved into
the demands of social justice bullies by announcing today,
on the occasion of Theodor Geisel's 117th birthday,
which is also known as "Read Across America Day",
that it will stop publishing six Dr. Suess books, which
the Cancel Culture has deemed "inappropriate" and "racist".

The Chinese man in traditional Asian dress as seen running
and eating on Mulberry Street has been designated,
"a jarring racial stereotype".  Are you kidding me?
What's next? Calling for the removal of chopsticks
from all the Chinese
restaurants across America?

Other books affected by this decision include: "If I Ran The Zoo"
"McElligot's Pool"  "On Beyond Zebra!" "Scrambled Eggs Super!"
and "The Cat's Quizzer".

As conservative political commentator Ben Shapiro recently
tweeted: "We've now got foundations book burning the authors
to whom they are dedicated. Well done, everyone."

Why are they picking on Dr. Suess,
one of America's best known and loved
authors of 20th century childrens' books?
Simply because he is a white man.
  According to Cancel Culture idiocy,
all white men over a certain age
(especially if they were born at any time
 before the 21st century)
 were/are bred-in-the-bone racists
who have exerted their "white privilege"
 to keep minorities or non-whites
from ever achieving real equality with them.
To them, America is an inherently racist
nation because our founders were white men,
and all white men once owned slaves here...
which is another unfounded truth.

C.C. bullies erroneously blame all
the problems within minority neighborhoods, or
non-white communities on discrimination imposed
by "European" or white Americans, and our inclusive,
racist society. They reserve their most toxic verbal
venom, however, to spew at white men and women
with strong evangelical faith, who hold traditional
 values, and conservative political views.

The latest grave offense, according to the profoundly hateful
minds of the 21st century version of the Thought Police,
has been white evangelical support for now
former President Donald Trump and his
pledge to "Make America Great Again."

In a weird twist to this latest "cancellation" there is a
story being circulated in the media concerning a
a donation of Dr. Suess books sent by First Lady Melania Trump
a few years ago to an elementary school in Massachusetts.

The donation of ten books was promptly refused
by the Cambridgeport Elementary School librarian
Liz Phipps Soeiro, who stated that she "did not
need free books". Never mind that this was a
gift from the First Lady of The United States.
Soeiro later wrote in a blog post that the illustrations
of Dr. Suess were "steeped in racist propaganda,
caricatures, and harmful stereotypes."

Does this sound familiar?

During the four years that Donald Trump was America's
leader, he was routinely and falsely accused of being
a racist and of propagating Nazi-like hate propaganda
primarily against blacks, gays, Muslims, and illegals.
Just a few years ago, people who hold views similar
to the school librarian attacked the "Little House"
series of books, calling them "offensive" and
"full of racial stereotypes against American Indians".
This led to the renaming of the book medal first
awarded to author Laura Ingalls Wilder in 1954
from the "The Laura Ingalls Wilder Award" to
the impersonal, more prosaic-sounding,
"The Children's Literature Legacy Award".

I would not be the least surprise if the real motivation behind
the actions taken by the American Library Association was less
about Laura's depictions of American Indians, and the way some
of the people of her time felt about them, and a whole lot
more about "cancelling" her for the strong Libertarian political
beliefs which she shared along with her daughter,
writer Rose Wilder Lane.

I believe that despite all the problems we have
been experiencing lately, America is still an exceptional nation
with a God-given destiny, as well as a unique history and culture,
which needs to be protected and preserved intact from the ever
increasing threats and demands of the ignorant, political hatchet-wielding,

Cancel Culture and groups like them, which are seeking to destroy
everything good and right about America.

And this includes protecting classic and historical fiction about
American frontier life as portrayed in the "Little House" books,
and the original, witty prose and whimsical art of a man
loved by generations of American school children
 and children at heart,
 named Theodor "Ted" Geisel,
better known as the one and only Dr. Suess.

Happy Reading America!
