74th Anniversary Of D-Day: June 6, 1944

"We died," they cried, "for a dream. Have ye forgot?
We dreamed of a world reborn whence wars had fled,
Where swords were broken in pieces and guns were rust,
Where the poor man dwelt in quiet, the rich in peace,
And children played in the streets, joyous and free.

Remembering the brave American heroes who on this day
stormed the beaches of France for the freedom of the world.
Many of your generation are long gone from this earth,
but your sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Thank you for your service to this nation.
And for my freedom.
