First Sunday Meditation: And By Faith Preserve The Soul

"The individual child of God is challenged as never before
in the world's history to let go of the trivial and the transient,
and to yield himself (themselves)  unreservedly to Him
Who is coming back to fulfill the longings of
every true believer-forever and ever!"
-The Amplified Bible

"The Lord God says to my Lord, the Messiah,
Sit at My right hand, until I make Your adversaries
Your footstool."
Psalm 110:1

"I saw in the night visions, and behold, on the clouds
of the heavens came One like a Son of man, and He came
to the Ancient of Days and was presented to Him.
And there was given Him, the Messiah, dominion and
glory and kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages
should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion
which shall not pass away, and His kingdom is one
which shall not be destroyed."
Daniel 7:13-14

"For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens
to the end fulfillment; it will not deceive or disappoint. Though
it tarry, wait earnestly for it, because it will surely come; it will
not be behindhand on its appointed day.

Look at the proud; their soul is not straight or right within them,
but the rigidly just and the uncompromisingly righteous shall
live by faith and in faithfulness.
Habakkuk 2:3-4

"Jesus said to him, "You have stated the fact. More than that,
I tell you: You will in the future see the Son of Man seated at
the right hand of the Almighty and coming on the clouds in the sky."
Matthew 26:64

"But our way is not that of those who draw back to eternal misery
and are utterly destroyed, but we are those who believe in, who
cleave to and trust in and rely on God through Jesus Christ the Messiah,
and by faith preserve the soul."
Hebrews 10:39

 THE BOOK OF HEBREWS
CHAPTER 8

Now the main point of what we have to say is this:
We have such a High Priest, One Who is seated at the
right hand of the majestic God in heaven.

As officiating Priest, a Minister in the holy places
and in the true tabernacle which is erected not by man but by the Lord.

For every high priest is appointed to offer up gifts and sacrifices;
so it is essential for this High Priest to have some offering to make also.

If then He were still living on earth, He would not be a priest at all,
for there are already priests who offered gifts in accordance with the Law.

But these offer service merely as a pattern and as a foreshadowing of
what has its true existence and reality in the heavenly sanctuary.
For when Moses was about to erect the tabernacle, he was warned
by God, saying, See to it that you make it all exactly according to
the copy which was shown to you on the mountain.

The Tabernacle In The Wilderness

But as it now is, He, Christ has acquired a priestly ministry which is
as much superior and more excellent than the old, as the covenant,
the agreement, of which He is the Mediator, is superior and more excellent,
because it is enacted and rests upon more important promises.

For if that first covenant had been without defect, there would
have been no room for another one, or even an attempt to institute another one.

However, He finds fault with them, showing its inadequacy, when He says,
Behold, the days will come, says the Lord, when I will make and ratify a
new covenant or agreement with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.

It will not be like the covenant that I made with their forefathers on the day
when I grasped them by the hand to help and relieve them and to lead them
out from the land of Egypt, for they did not abide in My agreement with them,
and so I withdrew My favor and disregard them, says the Lord.

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after
those days, says the Lord; I will imprint My laws upon their minds,
even upon their innermost thoughts and understanding, and engrave
them upon their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

And it will nevermore be necessary for each one to teach his neighbor and
his fellow citizen or each one his brother, saying, Know the Lord, for all
will know Me, from the smallest to the greatest of them.

For I will be merciful and gracious toward their sins and I will
remember their deeds of unrighteousness no more.

When God speaks of a new covenant or agreement, He makes the
first one obsolete.  And what is obsolete is ripe for disappearance
and to be dispensed with altogether.
