The False God Of The 21st Century

"For the Word that God speaks is alive

and full of power; it is sharper than any two-edged sword,

penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life, the soul,

and the immortal spirit, and of joints and marrow,

exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging

the very thoughts and purposes of the heart."

Hebrew 4:12

Without a doubt or a second guess,

the way of the Internet is an awful mess!

 And I am not saying this in jest.

  I have clearly seen how this mercurial deity,
the false god of 21st century worship,

 too often robs many gifted individuals

 of their personal best.

Far too many have willingly exchanged

 their unique, God-given abilities to make

themselves a household name.

To be a star of their own "vlog"

can be quite exciting indeed,

 a boon to their self-esteem,

 a momentous dine,

only to find themselves suddenly

 surrounded by a passel of  

foul-mouthed, human swine.

Many an unwitting soul has fallen prey

 to a faceless human's comment,

written in words so unspeakably vile 

they make you want to vomit.

As these perilous last days peak,

 if those who are hurt, angry,
lonely and tired would only

   turn to the Word that God speaks!

 He already knows the condition

of troubled human hearts,

 Only He can give them
 the acceptance they desperately crave,

for His Word is alive, full of strength,

 and truth, a compass of shining light, 
 which will give directions for living right,

in this dark and lonely hour.
